In 2023, the cost-effectiveness ratio of the small micro-pitch LED display has been significantly improved, and the gradual decline in price has made this original high-end display technology more friendly to the people, and the proportion in the high-end application market has continued to climb. Therefore, in 2024, the demand for high-end displays in the terminal market will gradually transition from the P0.9 pitch to the more refined P0.7. At present, the scale manufacturing capacity of Zhongqi has reached 8,000m ²/month, and it is planned to reach 10,000m ²/month by the end of the year, which can meet the large-scale demand for micro-pitch products in the market. At present, Zhongqi Optoelectronics mainly promotes the two major technical routes of cob and MIP, positioning itself as a professional led direct display manufacturer, only manufacturing and not branding.. Zhongqi Optoelectronics believes that this year is the explosive year of COB, which has gradually replaced SMD; currently Zhongqi COB technology is mainly used in indoor small-pitch micro-pitch, curved, and special-shaped LEDs, which can be combined with virtual pixels for customized production; in terms of MIP, the focal length must be below P0.6 for quasi-Micro LED displays, DCI color gamut cinema screens, XR virtual shooting and other fields. Currently, MIP0404 products have been launched, and P0.6 and P0.9 products can currently be produced.
In terms of industry, many LED display manufacturers are currently increasing their efforts to promote COB and MIP technology routes and related products to the market, accelerating the penetration rate. Taking COB as an example, in the market below 1.0, COB has started to grow to a certain extent, and since last year, the proportion of COB has begun to expand at the P1.2 distance. According to experts, the "LED Display Industry 2024Q2 Quarterly Analysis Report" shows that the LED display industry's demand for COB technology continues to grow, and companies have shown significant growth in shipments while expanding production capacity to meet market demand. As of mid-July, COB production capacity (converted into area based on P1.2) reached 36,000 square meters per month. Some companies have stated that they will continue to release production capacity in the future based on changes in market demand.
